Viking Symbols Displayed on Acrylic Fridge Magnet
Viking symbols, also known as Norse symbols, refer to the marks and characters that were used by the Vikings for communication. The term ‘Vikings’ refer to the Germanic people who travelled on ships and raided, explored and traded in numerous areas of Asia, islands in the North Atlantic and in Europe between the 8th and 11th centuries. They used unique symbols for communicating with one another; some of these odd marks include the Horn Triskelion, Valknut and the Triquetta. The Mysterious Norse Symbols
The exact meaning of the majority of the Norse symbols is still not known. Historians have yet to decipher the purpose behind the creation of the Viking symbols and their meanings. These symbols were found on artifacts such as swords, helmets, decorative elements, shields and other objects that were excavated from the different Viking settlements. Some sources state that these symbols refer to the values, culture and the lifestyle of the Vikings.

There are hundreds of weird Viking symbols but some of the popular ones include the Helm of Awe, Odin’s Horn, Mjolnir, Web of Wyrd, Solar Cross, Shield Knot, Sleipnir, Thor’s Hammer, Triquetra, Valknut, Irminsul, Spirit Ship, Troll Cross, Nine Worlds, Hugin and Munin and Julbock. It is a magical sign that was drawn by the Vikings to protect them from all kinds of evils. It was also used to inject fear of the Vikings in the eyes of their enemies. This symbol is still used by the followers of Asatru today to safeguard from the evil spirits.
