Description

The Unique New Mexico Scenery

This souvenir from United States offers plenty to think about, not only does it feature some uniquely New mexican scenery, but it has some cultural features that are representative of the culture that has come to be so recognizable and unique.

There is big and small picture content that invites the viewer to think about both daily life and spiritual beliefs and the sway that each held in the minds of those who have called and continue to call this open range home. And this can be found at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture located in Santa Fe.

The Museum in Details

A visit to New Mexico won't be completed if you don't stop by the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. This museum will introduce and immerse the visitor into the cultures of the different Native American groups that have lived in New Mexico for centuries. Founded by Edgar Lee Hewett, the museum embraced since its inception the commitment to truly represent the life styles of the diverse communities that have made New Mexico their home.

The museum houses interesting collections of textiles, pottery, jewelry, furniture and art works in an integral design that shows, as no other museum in United States, the relationships among the different areas of the social and cultural life of the different groups such as Navajo, Clovis and Apache. Quite interestingly, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions which show artifacts and artwork from communities out of the state which gives the visitor the opportunity to establish connections among the different Native communities that populated America before the Europeans arrived. There you can know, particularly, about communities still living in Arizona, California and Nevada. This is a great travel souvenir to take back home.
