A Landscape as a Painting
A souvenir from United States with a landscape like this is sure to conjure up images of paintings that feature this kind of setting. The colors are quite interesting in that they are subtle yet visually engrossing. A very nice touch is the fact that the sky takes up half of the picture.
You can also pick out themes of life and death as this picture was taken in the Fall, when the colors change, and the new season has its way. The use of foreground and background is definitely meant to promote the notion of change. Perhaps these words, life, change, and multiple layers are the best to describe the intriguing natural world that awaits the traveler visiting Santa Fe National Forest. A place you will never forget after visiting this unique state.
A Great Forest in the Southwest.
By all means, a visit to New Mexico won't be completed without stopping by Santa Fe National Forest, one the biggest green areas in the region. As part of Pecos Wilderness, the forest includes various mountainous formations that provide the unique character to the forest. The nature buffs will be amazed at the variety of fauna that reside in this park starting with the iconic coyote.
If you don't want to get lost, your best bet is to approach one of the five district offices of the park and ask for maps and directions. Cuba, Espanola, Pecos / Las Vegas, Jemez and Coyote serve as the colorful names to each of the sections of the forest. Each include different attractions that, if visiting the forest with the family, should be known in advance. For example, Jemez and Pecos districts include rivers where the kids can swim. All in all, this is a great travel souvenir to take back home.
