Description

This Acrylic Fridge Magnet Depicts Downtown Omaha, Nebraska at Dawn

Located along the Iowa border, in eastern Nebraska, Omaha is city with a diverse economic base and much to offer visitors. Internationally, Omaha is perhaps best known for being the home of billionaire Warren Buffet and his ground breaking investment firm Berkshire Hathaway. However, while the city may greatly admire is most famous son, it is also home to a number of other businesses and institutions including ConAgra Foods, Mutual of Iowa and the Union Pacific Railroad - the United States' largest rail operator. This fridge magnet shows the economic heart of this bustling city: Downtown. Visually dominated by the First National Bank Tower, it is the home of the city's most important economic engines. Without a doubt, Omaha is a thriving modern city, but this raises the question for tourists, what is there to do in a fully day in Omaha?

Visiting Omaha - What to Do and What To See in Nebraska's Largest City

Visitors who arrive at Omaha in time to see the dawn are able to spend a full day enjoying the city's many sights. By far the most popular destination in the city is the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, considered to be one of the nation's finest. The Zoo has the nation's largest cat exhibit and impressive domed habitats, including the Desert Dome, the Lied Jungle, Kingdoms of the Night (featuring nocturnal animals) and the Gorilla Valley. Omaha is also an important sports destination, as it hosts the yearly College World Series, the championship of college baseball. Downtown Omaha also has the Old Market historic neighborhood. The neighborhood has brick streets, historic buildings, and horse-drawn carriages and has a number of restaurants, art galleries and shopping opportunities. Today the neighborhood is increasingly popular and the city has designated it as a Historic Landmark.
