Description

Onyx Cave In Mammoth Caves, Kentucky Pictured On An Attractive Acrylic Fridge Magnet

Onyx Cave is part of the Mammoth Caves National Park in Kentucky and is so named because of the onyx formations which can be seen there. The cave is unusual in that it is not connected to the other caves in the Mammoth Caves system. During the initial commercialisation of the cave sand and rocks were piled up against the walls and it is thought this action may have blocked passages to other caves. Onyx Cave is still a popular tourist attraction though and a tour of the cave is available. The tour lasts for approximately half an hour and is not strenuous with just a few steps to climb. The cave is certainly an amazing place to visit as can be seen from the picture of Onyx Cave in Mammoth Caves, Kentucky on this acrylic fridge magnet from the catalogues of World Wide Gifts.
