The Pyramids at College Park, Indianapolis

The three glass structured pyramid shaped official buildings at College Park in Indianapolis, in the states of Indiana stands as a prominent landmark. These glass pyramids, on the north-west side of Indianapolis, occupy 45 acres of land by the side of 25 acre lake. Owned by the Sterling American Property, these official buildings were set up by the College Life Insurance Company. They offer world class conference center, seminar rooms, spacious lobby, landscaped park-like setting and host of other amenities. The two concrete walls of each pyramid face the nearby highway. They are noted for their abstract opaque quality. The other two blue exterior glass curtain walls, facing the landscaped grounds, are noted for their reflectivity. Each pyramid has passenger cable elevators. All the three pyramids at College Park Indianapolis are connected via basement and ground level corridors. This acrylic fridge magnet souvenir with its depiction of the three pyramid structured buildings at College Park Indianapolis is an excellent memento for tourists, as architectural wonder, to take home.

A Short History of the Pyramids

In 1960s the college life insurance company was rapidly expanding. They needed more space to accommodate their growing staff. As a result, these pyramids were then constructed on a plan by Kevin Roche for which he was awarded Pritzker Prize. The plan was to build nine identical towers each containing 120,000 square feet area. Initially, three towers were constructed which took the form of pyramids. The original constructers had left the pyramids and they are now leased by Cassidy Turley Commercial Reality Services.
