Horse Statue In Brookfield Connecticut Pictured On An Acrylic Fridge Magnet

In the southern foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, in Fairfield County, Connecticut, lies the town of Brookfield. This attractive acrylic fridge magnet, from the catalogues of World Wide Gifts, represents the town. The picture on the fridge magnet is the first piece of public art in Brookfield which was funded by grants and donations. The horse sculptures were created by the artist Peter Busby

The Historic Town Of Brookfield In Connecticut

The area where Brookfield town now is was first settled in 1710 by colonial founders, Muirwood, Hawley, Peck, and Merwin. The town was founded several decades later, in 1788. Brookfield was named after the Reverend Thomas Brooks, the minister of the first Congregational Church in the parish. The town now has a population of approximately sixteen and a half thousand and has grown from being a small colonial town to being a popular destination for consumer goods and shopping. One of the attractions that have drawn people to the area is Candlewood Lake. The lake is 8.4 square miles in area and is bordered by five towns, including Brookfield. During the summer months many tourists travel to the lake for boating, fishing and golf. There are five star resorts, golf courses, beaches, and marinas along its banks. This popular and attractive area is represented by memorable horse statues on our colourful acrylic fridge magnet.
