Both Distinguished and Grand
You don't have to be a fan of architecture to admire this magnet souvenir from Spain, but it certainly helps. It almost seems like its a British parliamentarian building in the way in which it both grand and distinguished. If you traveled to Mallorca you are also sure to be aware that this is the most representative of this tourist friendly destination. You may also find this item attractive if you appreciate the fairy tale aesthetic as this cathedral looks like it could be the wedding site for noble society.
The Cathedral in Details
As many other churches in Spain, the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Palma was built in the site of a former mosque. It took almost four centuries to be completed, as construction started in times of King James I of Aragon and was completed in the early Seventeenth century. The Cathedral was not extensively remodeled, only in the early Twentieth century Gaudi was commissioned a renovation which failed and only minor works was done.
Travelers will certainly enjoy visiting the Cathedral as it is strategically located on the top of a Roman construction and from there they can experience a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea. If traveling with children, take them to the Parc de la Mar where they can run and play.
When visiting the Cathedral, the visitor can take a walk in the old part of La Palma and enjoy the picturesque streets and houses. Also, it is not a bad idea to stop by the Royal Palace of La Almudaina that will certainly bring images of the golden times of the Arab rule. By all means, this is a great travel souvenir to take back home and share with family and friends.
