A Sense of Adventure

This almost comical or childlike souvenir from Monaco features an action packed scene that represents the renowned race in Monaco that takes place every year. The first aspect that pops in this particular item is the vibrancy or lightness of the colors utilized in order to create a sense of fun and even adventure. The fact that it takes place at the beach also doesn't hurt.

It almost looks like something you would pick up on your trip to Hawaii, just tropical and fun loving. One thing is for sure, if you're looking to liven up your home this will surely go a long way, particularly if you have kids running around.

The Race in Details

The Monaco Grand Prix is perhaps Formula One's most prestigious race, basically because it is held in a city befriended by celebrities and the home town of one of the most glamorous royal families in the world. Car drivers might question this remark as the circuit is in the actual streets of the city which makes the driving a real challenge. Racing in Monaco dates from 1929 when William Grover-Williams got the first place in the competition organized by the local Automobile Club.

It was after Second World War when Monaco became a stellar racing spot, specially after Formula One was established as a category. The most famous racer of the time was Juan Manuel Fangio who was the first to win twice in this circuit. But the great Monaco winner was Graham Hill who was a five time winner in Monaco in the sixties. For the record, Ayrton Senna takes the best ranking, as he won the Grand Prix six times between 1989 and 1993. If you like racing, you might as well take this travel souvenir back home to add a nostalgic note to your fridge.
