Osorno Volcano and Reminiscences of Japan

Looking like a classic photo straight out of Japan which is well known for its beautiful dormant volcanoes, this magnet souvernir from Chile looks almost surreal. From top to bottom, it looks blue in an almost heavenly way and just seems to be a fantastical land far, far away. The picture also utilizes space in a very inspiring way that is meant to humble the person admiring the view.

It is Osorno volcano, one of the most beautiful sites as you drive down into Southern Chile. The highway borders the breathtaking Llanquihue Lake. Your eyes will zigzag their attention between the blue waters of the lake and the magic woods on the other side of the road. You will find more than one reason to stop to admire the beauty of the scenery and take pictures. You'll probaly feel that this is the first time you were so close to nature, in fact, that you are nature itself.

Towns Taken from a Fairy tale

If the woods reminded you the scenery for a fairy tale, the towns that lead to the volcano will only reinforce that idea. Frutillar is a beautiful town of wooden houses painted in bright colors, it was founded by German settlers who brought their gaily traditions to this isolated region. Puerto Octay and Llanquihue share this magic traits. However, Puerto Varas, the town by the volcano, tells another story. Transfomed into a tourist resort, the traveler will find a more stuctured palette of opportunities for lodging and entertainment including an interesting calendar of events. You can also some fine restaurants where you can taste the local food that is greatly influenced by European recipes. When you see this magnet on your fridge back home, you'll surely feel immersed in the Chilean mix of nature and charm.
