Description

A Sense of Nobility

This magnet souvenir from Chile is quite graceful and appears to inspire positivity. There is a sense of nobility and pride that arises from how this nation came to be established as independent and a force of its own.

It also has class which isn't a bad thing to have if you're looking to take your home decor to a new level. It is nice to have things in your home that can be interpreted by people like guests who can see it as a way to look out onto the world.

The Emblem of the Independence

The three-colored Chilean flag is also known as La Estrella Solitaria, what translates as The Lone Star. Its elements have specific meanings: the star talks about progress, the white is for snow, the blue for the sky and the Pacific Ocean that bathes the country from North to South, and the red is for the heroes of the Independence Wars. It is believed that the star comes from the Mapuche tradition. Mapuches are the original inhabitants of Chile.

In fact, the flag was accepted as the country's emblem in 1817 when the fight against the Spanish army was at its climax. Apparently, Jose Ignacio Zenteno who was the Minister of War during Bernardo O'Higgins administration commissioned a soldier called Antonio Arcos, to design the flag. This is a great travel souvenir to share with family and friends you experiences in the far South.
