Recognized as the United States' least populated state, Wyoming offers little for conventional tourism. What it lacks in big cities, monuments, and historical significance, Wyoming surely makes up for it with its natural beauty and outdoor adventures. That said, Wyoming's souvenirs are unique and original as they relate to the natural beauty of the state.
Souvenirs in Wyoming will be much more difficult to find as there are not densely placed shops throughout the state as you might see in California, New York, or District of Columbia. However, if you plan to attend national parks like Yellowstone or Grand Teton, the communities surrounding will surely have many opportunities for you to take home your desired mementos.
As with any place you travel, Wyoming will offer your traditional souvenirs such as clothing, photos, post cards and key chains that will most certainly display a shot of natural beauty found across the Midwest state. That said, you wouldn't be reading this article if you were only interested in these traditional trinkets, but rather you're more interested in what unique gifts Wyoming can offer.
Yellowstone National park reaches over a few states, but is predominantly located in Wyoming. Souvenirs for this site can be found at many shops located near the park, but any shop, as well as many roadside stops throughout the state will carry items that bear Yellowstone's signature. Yellowstone is well known for its wildlife, most notably, bears. However, the most iconic symbol related to Yellowstone is Old Faithful. Old Faithful is recognized across the United States as the most popular geyser, drawing tens of thousands of visitors every year. Many souvenirs found around Yellowstone will show resemblance to Old Faithful or its heavy population of bears and bison. Such items include patches, medallions, and jewelry. Much of the jewelry found will be copper. Copper bracelets, necklaces, and earrings can be found as copper is a prevalent metal found throughout Yellowstone. Also very popular around Yellowstone are pocketknives. Resembling the rugged outdoors aura, survival items like the pocketknife are found in most shops. Many of the knives have designs either carved or painted on that display some of the wildlife. Other popular outdoors items include canteens and satchels.
Much of Wyoming's outdoors attractions will carry similar items as what can be found around Yellowstone. As the state with the lowest population and lowest population density, much of Wyoming is wide open and will lack significant attractions. However, many of the souvenirs you find along your travels will honor the nature and what parks they do have to share.
