Notions of Isolation

This souvenir from Bolivia is sure to liven up your home and heighten the spirits. It is a friendly scene that carries with it notions of isolation and carefree joy. A nice thing about vacations is that we do what we feel and try not to question things too directly. But in this case, asking questions can be absolutely fundamental.

Salar de Tunupa in Details

As locales call the salar Tunupa, some people consider that the real name for this salar is not Uyuni. In fact, Tunupa is one of the mountains that border Uyuni salar, the biggest flat salar in the whole world. According to an Aymara legend, Tunupa's tears and breast milk created the salar.

The salar is great for travelers crossing by car the Bolivian Altiplano. This trip is filled with great encounters as the travelers will have great views of the most popular sites. Some of these include the volcano of Tunupa and Incawasi island. Here, it is s good idea to spend the night at the hostel and enjoy a great meal. Drivers are advised to make their way along the shore of the lake as they might find too much water in the center. Be prepared to comes across workers extracting salt using the most rudimentary tools such as as axes and shovels. The salt industry is government-owned as is it is considered to be one of Bolivia most precious resources. This is a great travel souvenir to take back home and share you experience driving across the salar with family and friends.
