Souvenir of Montana: Acrylic Fridge Magnet of the Glacier National Park

The Glacier National Park is a vast and stunning national park situated in Montana, United States. It is spread over an area of over 4000 km2 and consists portions of 2 mountain ranges, more than a hundred and thirty lakes and over thousands of different kinds of flora and fauna. It is the perfect ecosystem for several types of animals and plants and is also known as the 'Crown of the Continent Ecosystem.' You should certainly pay a visit to this park while you are in Montana and enjoy its scenic beauty and gorgeous landscapes. The acrylic fridge magnet shown above is a nice keepsake of the park and displays a picture of a bear sniffing huckleberries in the park.

Flora of the Park

More than 1132 kinds of plants have been discovered in the Glacier National Park. The park hosts several kinds of coniferous plants including Douglas fir, limber pine, Englemann spruce, western larch and sub-alpine fir. Deciduous trees are also found in the park including Aspen and Cottonwood. The forested area of the park is divided into three main climatic regions. The northwest and western portions of the park mainly consist of spruce and fir trees; the hemlock and red cedar dominate the southwest area and the region towards the east consists of fir, pine, spruce and prairie plants. You will also find lots of huckleberry plants in the forests in the park that are one of the highlights of the Glacier National Park.

Fauna of the Park

You will find almost all kinds of animals and birds in the park except for caribou and bison. Two of the most endangered animals in the world: the Canadian lynx and the grizzly bear are also found in the park. Mammals inhabiting the park include mountain goat, moose, mule deer, bighorn sheep, elk, coyote, mountain lion and white-tailed deer. More than 260 types of birds also live in the park including the Golden Eagle, Osprey and Peregrine Falcon.
