A Matter of Achievement

The St. Louis Arch is an impressive feat of construction and serves for many as a source of inspiration. Its stature is certainly its biggest selling point, but it also welcomes travelers to this slice of America which maintains a unique cultural presence. One thing that this magnet souvenir from United States accomplishes is putting into perspective the significance of this rather simple construction. The blue sky certainly helps guide the gaze of the observer in this picture as it almost looks comically blue and even coolness. This kind of perspective talks about the opportunity provided to everybody to pursue new horizons, something that is part of this city`s spirit.

St. Louis in Details

St. Louis Missouri is one of the American cities most frequently depicted in movies. And it is for good reasons. Since the Eighteenth century, it was clear the city`s vocation to serve as the gateway to the West. At that time, Pierre Laclede Liguest envisioned the place as a great trading spot and soon the first houses were erected. Even though it was firstly called Laclede's Village, the town was named St. Louis after the king of France. The town prided of its multinational and multicultural component as Spanish, Native Americans and French were its dwellers.

In the early Nineteenth century, St. Louis became part of United States and soon it became the gateway to those who ventured West of the Mississippi to colonize the new lands. During this century, St. Louis was a key port and more than 150 steamboats could be seen navigating along the river on any given day. The Twentieth century brought more prosperity to the city as it became an industrial hub in the region. Today, St Louis keeps its tradition of richness in the heart of United States. This is a great travel souvenir to take back home.
