Description
The Classic Minneapolis Skyline at Night is the Theme of This Souvenir Fridge Magnet
This acrylic fridge magnet shows the pulsing heart of the modern city of Minneapolis, the 16th largest city in the United States with over three million inhabitants. Located in southern Minnesota, Minneapolis is the northernmost great city located on the Mississippi River, which cuts right alongside Downtown Minneapolis and separates the city from its sister of St. Paul (the state capital). The central business district - featured front and center in this souvenir fridge magnet - has a number of significant skyscrapers including the Forshay and IDS Towers, the Wells Fargo Center and the Carlyle. The IDS Tower is the tallest building in the city and the Carlyle its tallest residential building. Unlike the reputations of some downtowns as desolate and dangerous, Minneapolis' center still attractions people every day for business, shopping, eating and entertainment.
Things to Do in the City of Minneapolis
Visitors to Downtown Minneapolis often make a stop in the North Loop (also called the "Warehouse District"), an area of picturesque brick industrial buildings that were gentrified in the 1980s and today house the city's funky arts neighborhood. One prominent resident is the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art, an artist's collective which has exhibition and studio space for its members. Also nearby is Target Field, opened only in 2010, which is the baseball stadium where the professional Minnesota Twins play. The parks in this neighborhood are part of the city-wide Grand Rounds Scenic Byway, which is a system of walking and biking trails which thread through the city. Through them, visitors can travel to sites like the Stone Arch Bridge, St. Anthony Falls, the Chain of Lakes Park, Mill City Museum and Minnehaha Park (which has a waterfall and gorge that feeds into the Mississippi).
