The Skyline Of Louisville, Kentucky Pictured On An Attractive Acrylic Fridge Magnet
Louisville is the largest city in the state of Kentucky. It is situated in the in the southeast of the state at the 'Falls of the Ohio'. This is a limestone rapids area on the Ohio River where the water drops by twenty six feet over a two mile distance. Today the area around this part of the river is a nature reserve but it played an important part in the settlement of Louisville. The interruption in the ability to travel down the river caused people to settle in the area. The first European settlement in the area came in 1778 with Louisville being recognised as a town two years later, and named after King Louis XIV of France. The town has now grown into a modern city. The skyline of the modern day Louisville is perfectly captured on this acrylic fridge magnet from the catalogues of World Wide Gifts.
