The Frozen Niagara Tour At Mammoth Caves, Kentucky Pictured On An Acrylic Fridge Magnet

The amazing site of Frozen Niagara at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky is captured on this acrylic fridge magnet from the catalogues of World Wide gifts. The structures in the caves literally look like a 'Frozen Niagara' and make for an amazing sight. Each day of the year, with the exception of the twenty fifth of December, tours can be taken, as they can throughout the Mammoth caves. The tour of Frozen Niagara is easy to walk and takes approximately one hour and fifteen minutes; it is the perfect way to undertake a less strenuous, yet still fascinatingly beautiful, exploration.

Visiting Mammoth Caves In Kentucky

Frozen Niagara is just one section of the Mammoth Caves, which is the longest cave structure in the world. The caves are a popular tourist attraction with approximately two million visitors per year. The Mammoth Cave National Park, in which the caves are situated, lies in central Kentucky and covers fifty two thousand, eight hundred and thirty acres. The park was established in 1941, around the Green River and the four hundred miles of passageways in the cave system. In 1981 the park was made a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Mammoth Caves are of course a central attraction of the area but for those visiting there is plenty to do above ground such as camping, hiking, and horseback riding. The Green River, and smaller Nolin River, cross the parkland and provide the opportunity to catch fish such as bluegill, catfish or perch. There are ferries to cross the Green River and canoeing is a popular pastime. The labyrinth of caves is no doubt the area's most popular attraction though and you can see why from the picture of Frozen Niagara at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, on our attractive acrylic fridge magnet.
