Abraham Lincoln's Childhood Home In Kentucky Pictured On An Acrylic Fridge Magnet

The boyhood home of the former President of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln, is at Knob Creek in Kentucky. The Lincoln family lived at this home from 1811 to 1816; Abraham Lincoln was two years old when the family started living at the property and a lot of his earliest memories were formed whilst living there. In adulthood he talked of the trees, streams, and hills of the area. The actual house where the Lincoln family lived was demolished in 1870 but has been recreated using antiques from the era. This historic landmark site is open to the public all year round, during daylight hours. It is a picturesque as well as interesting place to visit as can be seen from the picture on this acrylic fridge magnet from the catalogues of World Wide Gifts which depicts Abraham Lincoln's childhood home in Kentucky.

Visiting Abraham Lincoln's Childhood Home In Kentucky

People can visit Abraham Lincoln's childhood home in Kentucky all year round; they can get a feel for why the Lincoln family was attracted by the fertile land of the area. Lincoln has spoken extensively about his time at Knob Creek. He remembered sitting listening to his mother read the bible, and he remembered the birth and death of his younger brother. On one occasion the young Abraham Lincoln fell into the creek on the land and was saved from drowning by his friend, Austin Gollaher. How changed could the history of the United States have been if the outcome of that incident had been different? It is fascinating for people to be able to visit a site of such historical significance, which is also a site of natural beauty, as can be seen from the picture on our attractive acrylic fridge magnet.
