Description

This Acrylic Magnet Shows an Image of the Scottish Rite Cathedral, a Center of Freemasonry

Built in 1927, this magnet show the facade of the Scottish Rite Cathedral, a building that serves as a center for Freemasonry. One of the largest buildings dedicated to this cause, the Cathedral is a masterpiece of Neo-Gothic architecture and features prominent Masonic symbolism, such as the use of the number three and thirty-three in the building's dimensions and Zodiac images. The building is considered one of the most significant historic structures in Indianapolis and is popular with tourists who can enjoy guided tours of the building. The most notable rooms in the structure are the Tiler's Room which aims to reconstruct the interior of Solomon's Temple, as well as the ballroom and the 1,100 seat auditorium and an impressive pipe organ.

Touring the Sites in Indianapolis, Indiana

Indianapolis is the capital of the state of Indiana and has a number of tourist options. The most popular by far are the yearly car races of the Indianapolis 500, which bring in visitors from across the country to the Indianapolis Speedway. Beyond the IndyCar races, there are also other races including the Brickyard 400 and the NHRA U.S. National Championships. Other sites include the World War Memorial, a sprawling series of gardens and memorials which includes the national headquarters of the veteran's organization the American Legion. The honored dead from earlier wars, especially the Civil War are commemorated in the massive Soldiers and Sailor's Monument, a 284 foot (86.7 meter) obelisk in the city's heart. Nearby is the Indianapolis Central Library with its 19th century exterior and completely redone modern interiors. Visitors also enjoy the Indianapolis Zoo, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis (the largest of its kind in the world), and the annual Indiana State Fair.
