The Impressive Sight Of Perrine Bridge Idaho, Captured On An Attractive Acrylic Fridge Magnet
There has been a bridge carrying traffic over the Snake River Canyon, at this point, since September 1927. At the time of its original construction the old bridge was the highest in the world. Eventually, due to its age and inability to handle heavy loads, the bridge was replaced. Construction on the new structure, which includes a pedestrian walkway, finished in 1976. The new bridge was named after I B Perrin who led a lot of the twentieth century irrigation in the Magic Valley area and is largely credited with founding the town of Twin Falls. The modern bridge is an impressive sight as can be seen from this colourful acrylic fridge magnet from the catalogues of World Wide Gifts.
The Sights And Activities At Perrine Bridge, Idaho
Visitors can see the sights around Perrine Bridge by walking along the passenger lanes on the bridge or the trails available on the ground below. Also in area below the bridge are lakes, two golf courses, a park, and the Buzz Langdon Visitor Centre. For those seeking more adrenalin raising activities the bridge is popular for BASE jumping. Participants use a parachute to jump from the structure which is open all year round for the activity. The area is also associated with another 'daredevil'. Along the south rim of the canyon is the dirt ramp where Evel Knievel made an unsuccessful attempt to jump the canyon on his 'skycycle' in 1974. The parachute he was using malfunctioned but fortunately he escaped with just a broken nose. The area where the ramp sits is private but it can be seen from the bridge and from the trails. The area around Perrine Bridge has plenty to occupy visitors, not forgetting the majestic sight of the bridge itself as pictured on this acrylic fridge magnet.
