Sterling Law Building At Yale University, Connecticut Pictured On An Attractive Acrylic Fridge Magnet
The magnificent Sterling Law Building at Yale University was built in 1931 and was named after Yale alumnus and benefactor John William Sterling. Contained within the building are offices, classrooms, a law library, a courtyard and a day care centre. As with many buildings at Yale, Sterling is an example of Collegiate Gothic Style architecture and it was modelled on the English Inns of Court. The building is impressive outside and in, not just for its structure but for the embellishments as well. A myriad of stained glass medallions, carvings in wood and stone sculptures pay homage to famous figures of justice throughout history. Although the Law School underwent a $110 million renovation between 1995 and 2001 the historical architecture of the building was maintained with an emphasis mainly on new technology. Seeing how impressive Sterling Law Building is, as captured on this acrylic fridge magnet from the catalogues of World Wide Gifts, the authenticity of the structure should always be maintained.
Day To Day At Sterling Law Building, Yale University, Connecticut
Sterling Law Building houses the Law School of Yale University. Within the building are all the resources required for students to complete their studies. Internet connectivity is available from every desk and Wi-Fi access is provided in all the common areas. The Lillian Goldman Law Library contains nearly one million printed volumes and access to numerous online resources. These resources are available to all of the university's international students as well. The library was named after Lillian Goldman who died in 2002. Ms Goldman was honoured in this way to recognise the fact that she donated in excess of $20 million to help with the expansion of the library, the provision of day care, and the granting of scholarships especially to female students. So the inside of Sterling Law Building is just as impressive as the outside which is pictured on our acrylic fridge magnet.
