President Theodore Roosevelt created this park in1906 in order to conserve the work of Ancient Puebloan people. The park preserves the houses and villages made by this generation who are also referred to as Anasazi by many people. These people used to live in the Mesa Verde back in 600 to 1300 and deserted the place before the fifteenth century. They used to earn their living through subsistence farming and built one of the most beautiful historical places, which is cherished till this date by the U.S. government.
