The Unforgettable View of Virgin Creek Falls

Alaska is one of the least populous states of USA owing to its harsh winter, landscape covered with glaciers and extreme north location. However, if you once decide to go for the unconventional, Alaska will open up before your eyes its treasure of boundless natural beauty. And when it comes to visiting Alaska, the tour would be actually incomplete without catching the breathtaking view of the Virgin Creek Falls. Located in Girdwood, Turnagain in Anchorage County this waterfall is just 15 feet in height. However, you need to score an elevation of 300 feet in order to catch sight of its rare beauty. This 0.2 miles distance can be traversed both on foot and/or horseback. And once you lay eyes upon the Virgin Creek Falls, you would surely want to look at it again and again. To satisfy your thirst for beauty, go for the vinyl fridge magnet souvenir featuring the Virgin Creek Falls and cherish your happy memories of visiting the actual one!

How to Reach Virgin Creek Falls

You have to take up the Highway 1 at Girdwood, which lies 35 miles south of Anchorage. On reaching the Aleyska Highway, simply turn north. You will have to drive straight for 2.6 miles before turning right on Timberline and crossing the bridge over the river. The parking facilities are available at the end of the road, marked by the signed trailhead. It is really easy to take up the short hike to the falls and equally easy to descend to the creek. The pristine beauty of the falls and the surrounding mountains is sure to win your heart. The town of Girdwood is known for its skiing community. If you are into adventure sorts, do not miss the opportunity to go hiking and biking at the Chugach Park at Girdwood.
