Mallorca is a Jewel of an Island in the Mediterranean Sea

This colorful metalized refrigerator magnet is a delightful keepsake of a fabulous island vacation destination in Spain's Balearic Islands, and it's a great souvenir from Spain. Mallorca is a wonderful place for anyone who loves spending time at the beach, with amazing, fine white sand beaches and crystal clear waters all along its 550 km coastline.

Beautiful Mallorca (Majorca) offers its gorgeous landscapes and fabulous beaches for the enjoyment of more than eight million tourists who visit this lovely seaside resort island every year. The beaches are, of course, the most popular attraction on Mallorca, with such popular stretches of shore as Es Trenc near the Colonia de Sant Jordi, and the glamorous 5 km strand of Platja de Palma. Further away from the crowds are many isolated coves that offer secluded spots for sunbathing, although the more private beaches are also more difficult to reach and may not offer anywhere to park.

Sun, Sand and More on Mallorca

When you and your companions tire of swimming and laying on the beach, lovely Mallorca has a few more attractions and activities to satisfy even the most demanding of tourists. Golf is one popular way to pass the time on Mallorca, with at least eighteen golf courses and golf resorts on the island. More adventurous sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy rock climbing on the cliffs above the deep waters around the island, a sport known as "psicobloc." Hikers enjoy the picturesque trails of the Serra de Tramuntana, and bicyclists have a good time exploring the island roads, while several professional cycling teams train here.

Historical and cultural attractions include the famous Cathedral of Palma, and free classical music concerts on summer evenings. Sailing is another popular activity for vacationers on Mallorca, and if you are interested in clubbing, the Banana Disco on Magaluf is fabulous and disco clubs on the Paseo de Maritimo in Palma are always packed with party-goers- but not until after midnight!
