Check Out This Adorable Collectible Worldwide Gifts Fridge Magnet
The beautiful white village on the picturesque hilltops along the Costa del Sol is a charming place to visit, and its adorable burros have become an iconic image that adorns picture postcards and tourist photos alike. This burro on a resin magnet is a wonderful souvenir from Spain, and a pleasant reminder of one of Mijas' most popular attractions.
In this collectible image, the burro carries a basket of produce to market; however, the burro taxis of Mijas are all the rage with the tourists and one of the activities that many are sure to include in their itinerary is a burro ride. The history of the burro in Mijas is an interesting one in which the long-eared equine was originally used as transportation for mine workers in the region. When tourism came to Mijas, the workers discovered that they could make more money allowing the tourists to take pictures of them with the "cute" burros and decided to quit their day jobs to establish a burro business in Mjias. Today the animals have made a name for themselves in the tourism sector of Mijas.
