Pretty Dancing Girl - Bonita Bailarina - on a Collectible Worldwide Fridge Magnet

This lovely image is that of the beautiful flamenco dancer in Spain, a sight that means so much to the culture and society of the Spanish people and is so very representative of the country. This flamenco dancer is a wonderful souvenir from Spain and a reminder of some great times you enjoyed seeing the flamenco shows during your Spanish holiday.

This dance originates in Andalusia in southern Spain, and is a performance art involving magnetic and melodic guitar music, flamboyant percussions, and spectacular emotional and sultry dance steps. The beautiful dancing lady shown on the collectible figurine is dressed in a traditional flamenco costume, with brilliant colors, flashy ruffles and her iconic castanets in hand. The flamenco is a passionate and romantic dance that often seems to tell a story of love and betrayal, and is the most popular performance dance in Spain.

See the Flamenco Performed by Talented Professional Dancers

Although the flamenco is more traditionally a southern Spanish style of dance, the popularity of this dance among international tourists has driven performers to establish flamenco studios in all areas of the country. From Cadiz to Madrid, Barcelona to Seville, dinner theaters called tablaos have been established for the entertainment of holiday makers in Spain.

Famous for their proclivity to party, the Spanish people are also famous for their popular mega dance clubs, and most of them set aside at least one night a week for flamenco performances. You can easily find a flamenco show scheduled for any night of the week. Some of the dance clubs offer lessens in advance of their dance parties, so you can get a quick flamenco lesson and then try it out yourself later on that evening, maybe after you've had a couple of sangrias.
