Beautiful Barcelona is a Fantastic Vacation Destination for All Ages

The wonderful thing about the city of Barcelona is its unique blend of old and new, ancient and modern. This colorful Worldwide souvenir plate depicts quite a few of the city's iconic attractions, and you can see here that the landmarks include historic buildings, modernist architecture and even an amusement park. The plate makes a great souvenir from Spain, and if you haven't been yet it also shows you the must-see attractions of the capital of Catalonia.

The historical and cultural elements of Barcelona provide visitors with many interesting cathedrals, museums and palaces to explore as they delve into the history of the ancient city. The Sagradia Familia is the most visited historic site in the city, standing yet unfinished in an ongoing construction project that began in 1882 and may possibly be finished by its current scheduled completion date in the year 2026.

More Historic Sites and a Few Interesting Modern Sites as Well

There are many gorgeous historic buildings in Barcelona, such as the Casa Mila, the Casa Batllo and the Hospital de Sant Pau, all listed as World Heritage Sites. The Barcelona Cathedral, the Cathedral of St. Eulalia, the gothic church santa Maria del Pi and the Church of Santa Maria del Mar are other fascinating architectural landmarks that many visitors to Barcelona take the time to visit.

On the more contemporary front, the Park Guell is a fascinating place to explore with its modernist art and intricate mosaic tile murals. The National Museum of Art of Catalonia is a fascinating place to spend an afternoon, and when night falls you simply must go and see the Magic Fountain show. Las Ramblas is the most popular tourist street in the city and a great place for sightseeing and souvenir shopping.
