A Beautiful Travel Souvenir from Seville

This lovely souvenir plate depicts some of the outstanding attractions offered in Spain's only river port city. Seville is an ancient city with a history dating back to Roman rule and including hundreds of years as a Muslim kingdom. Visitors to this fascinating city will appreciate this keepsake plate as a representative of some of its most iconic landmarks and a great souvenir from Spain. The images on the memento plate include the most visited landmarks in Seville: the Alcazar, the Seville Cathedral, the Torre del Oro and the Triana bridge.

In addition to the many cultural and historical points of interest, Seville's location along the River Guadalquivir provides further interesting and enjoyable activities for its visitors, such as riverboat cruises, swimming, fishing and other water-related sports and activities. However, it is the historic aspect of Seville, its castles, its cathedrals, and its museums, that attract most of the thousands who come to Seville for their holiday.

Interesting Historical Sights in Seville

The most visited attraction in the ancient city of Seville is the Alcazar, a medieval palace that demonstrates the incredible beauty of architecture that combines Spanish Christian and Moorish influences. The Royal Palace of Alcazar is incredible, with intricate and ornate decorations and spectacular gardens. Beside the Alcazar is the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, also simply called the Cathedral of Seville, which is an imposing Gothic structure completed in 1507. Like many of the historic buildings in Seville, it was converted from a Muslim building to a Christian building, originally a mosque that was reconstructed on a grand scale to demonstrate the wealth of Seville. Giralda is the bell tower on the church, standing 343 feet high with four gilt bronze balls and a statue on top called "El Giraldillo."
