Giralda as an Illusion

The greatest feature of this souvenir from Spain can be described, or inferred, in one simple word, illusion. You can feel the stature of this prominent landmark as a human being who is gazing up at it with wonder. Simply put, it is an impressive feat of century architectural cunning and achievement. This building also serves as a grab ambassador of traditional edifice architecture as you can check out so much. In a way, looking up it from the ground up is a bit like reading a book. You begin with the introduction and the basics and then you move on to exposition and eventually symbolism.

It also seems to ask the viewer to inquire about Sevilla, and all the history that comes with it. For example, it asks the observer to wonder about what this building should in fact mean to the common Sevillan person. Would they look at it with a simple sense of accomplishment or perhaps as an internment to contemplate the value that the corresponding society gives itself?

The Facts About Giralda

Giralda was once a minaret of a mosque which turned in the tower of a cathedral when the Christians regained Spain from the Muslims. Thus, the tower captures the essence of its roots depicting a lower part with great Arabic influence and the top which incarnates Renaissance. The Cathedral features Gothic and Baroque styles and it is Sevilla's most outstanding landmark. The tower underwent several renovations including the one that inscribed the phrase "Seville has not abandoned me", pronounced by King Alfonso X. This is a great travel souvenir to take back home.
