The Native American Presence

Anyone who checks this souvenir from United States is sure to recognize that the Oklahoma seal was designed with care and affection. There's just so much to look at when one encounters this visually engrossing symbol of Oklahoma pride. This is certainly largely in part due to the major presence of civilized tribes in the state, all of which hold their own traditions and observances that are worthy of note and great respect. For this reason, the seal appears to try to marry patriotism with culture, both from the Native American and American perspectives.

Oklahoma: An Ancestral Land

Oklahoma boasts a great economy which is based on oil, natural gas and agriculture but it is moving with the times and recently has excelled in other areas such as energy, aviation and biotechnology. It is also a great place to choose to go for vactions as the state is home to great mountains, breathtaking forests and the plains that may make you think of the Argentinean Pampas.

But perhaps, Oklahoma best feature is the social diversity of its original population and of those who arrived later. It is no wonder as the state was the route followed by many nations for thousands of years. As a consequence, more than 25 languages are spoken in Oklahoma. Also, this was the land of the famous cowboys who were in charge of taking the cattle from the West to the East to ensure meat provision in the growing cities on the Atlantic coast. Today, the state boasts a diverse population which includes a growing African American community. To know more about the interesting history of this state stop by some of its museums. Some worth mentioning include Apache Historical Museum, Cherokee Strip Museum, Five Civilized Tribes Museum and Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum. This is a great travel souvenir to take back home.
