Dramatic and Stunning Imagery of Table Mountain Rocks

Rock climbing in South Africa has become one of the most popular adventurist sports in the world, and as you take a look at this spectacular Worldwide Gifts fridge magnet photo you can get some idea as to why this area would be so attractive to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. This picture makes a fantastic souvenir from South Africa and gives a marvelous impression of the incredible natural beauty of this region.

Cape Town is one of the best spots for rock climbing in South Africa. It's close to the city, in fact, some of the best climbs are within city limits. Cape Town is built around Table Mountain and the marvelous sandstone and granite cliffs are perfect for climbing. There are plenty of sports routes that are marked and bolted for safety lines, as well as more traditional, free-climbing routes and lots of rock faces that have yet to be discovered.

More Gorgeous Vistas and Rocks for Climbing

The Waterval Boven cliffs in Mpumalanga Town have been attracting climbers since the early nineties when they were featured in a German climbing magazine. There is an area called "The Restaurant" that has over 500 climbing routes to keep everyone happy, from easy scramble to trad (traditional) unbolted routes. One special route is named "As the World Disappears," and is graded 26, so be prepared for one of the toughest climbs of your life, but one that is well worth it when you reach the top and see the magnificent waterfalls, red stone rock faces and spectacular panoramic vistas.

Close to Johannesburg rock climbers climbing at the Eagle Mountain Game Lodge, the most famous route being the bolted 21 grade "Power Pigeon" climb. Traditionalists will love the miles and miles of unbolted rock at Drakensburg in the North West Province and Blouberg in the Limpopo Province.
