With a Sense of Positivity
The warm colors of this flag are great for complimenting the sunny ambiance of a kitchen. The abundance of yellow in this travel souvenir from Ecuador brings to mind the sunniness of just the word we inhabit, but also a common courtesy and a shared sense of positivity.
A small thing like a flag magnet can make you feel as though you have a great deal of direction and desires that are yet to be expressed in this world. Good reminders exist to let us know that we are doing something, or a number of things, right and that we shouldn't become discouraged at the first road block we encounter. This can be perfectly applied to the events leading to what Ecuador is today.
About the History of Ecuador
Ecuador has been inhabited for more than 8 thousands years. Indigenous people lived freely in this territory until they were incorporated into the Inca empire. Spanish colonizers arrived and, after submitting the Incans, founded its two most important cities to date: Guayaquil and Quito. As airs of independence blew in the American continent, Ecuador became part of the great project of the great Colombia that was Simon's Bolivar project for South America. As the Republic of Ecuador was conceived, the first flag was designed in 1835. It consisted of three horizontal strips of yellow, blue and red. It was until 1900 when the coat of arms was included in the center. The flag was influences by the flags of Colombia and Venezuela and it is not surprising as the three countries were part of Simon Bolivar's project. This is a great travel souvenir to take back home.
