The History of the Flag
The inspiration for the Argentinian flag came from the sky. Argentina had just constituted its first autonomous government, even though independence from Spain had not been obtained yet. General Manuel Belgrano was leading the military expedition along the Parana River to fight the Spanish army. At the time, his army had no flag. As he was resting, he looked up for inspiration and as he saw the beautiful boundless sky, he thought that his army's flag could have that color. His goal to fight for Argentina's independence was so big that the sky worked as a perfect symbol for the days ahead. From that moment on, Belgrano' flag was adopted as the flag of the whole country. This is a great travel souvenir to know more about Argentinian history.
